dc.description.abstractFifteen out of twenty patients suffering from end-stage chronic renal failure were found to have clinical evidence of peripheral neuropathy before the start of chronic dialysis treatment. Electrophysiological studies revealed abnormalities of motor- and sensory-nerve conduction in these patients. With adequate dialysis complete disappearance of symptoms occurred in all but three of the affected patients. The value of early and adequate dialysis in the treatment of the peripheral neuropathy of chronic uraemia is stressed. � 1965, British Medical Journal Publishing Group.
